SUPERNOVA 2004A in NGC 6207
     H. Kawakita and K. Kinugasa, Gunma Astronomical Observatory
(GAO), K. Ayani, Bisei Astronomical Observatory (BAO), and H. Yamaoka,
Kyushu University, report: "Optical spectra of SN 2004A (IAUC 8265),
obtained with the GAO 0.65-m telescope (with GCS) on Jan. 11.8 UT and
with the BAO 1.01-m telescope on Jan. 11.9 UT, show a blue continuum
and the hydrogen Balmer lines with P-Cyg profiles.  The emission
components are somewhat weak.  These features suggest that it is a
young type II supernova.  The expansion velocity, measured from the
absorption minuma of the Balmer lines, is about 12000 km/s.
