    To all SETIzens,

I hope all had very happy holidays and my best wishes
    for a great New Year.

I recently came across the following holiday message I
wrote to the list way back in 1998:

    Ahem...!

'Twas the night before the night before,
    and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, except for my mouse.
As I scrolled, pointed and clicked with alacrity,
Trying to do the most good for the League de SETI.

When out on the rooftop there arose such a clatter,
I rushed to the window, to see what was the matter.
And there I saw eight tiny raindeer ...and one big
    fish,
All had conspired to knock over my dish!

I ran to my door and shouted on high,
"Hey! Why don't you look where you're going?"
    And then I...

And now, for a short message from our sponsors:

Are you SETILeague members feeling tired, bored or
listless this holiday season? Are you looking for some
extra spark in your life? Well, look no more! Simply
put fingers to keyboard and send me your nominations
for the (2004)Bruno and Oliver N. Greene Awards. There
are only a few more shopping days left 'til the
deadline, so hurry! Don't wait any longer. And don't
forget. We absolutely must have reasons- a list of
your candidates accomplishments in the field of
SETI-so we can know why you think that person(s)
    should receive the award.

And now back to our show:

And the fish yelled and screamed as it flew away,
    "Happy Holidays to all,
And to all a good night!"

OK now, do us all a favor. Please don't make me write
anymore poetry. You can see I'm not very good at it.
    Go on over to:

    http://www.setileague.org/awards/index.html

On that page are several drop-down menus. Take a look
at the rules for submitting nominations for the
Giordano Bruno Award, the Oliver N, Greene Award, and
yes, oh yes, the SETI Superstar Award. Then fill out
the nomination forms for each and click send. That's
    it!

Nominate now. Nominate often. The entry deadlines
    approach!

Hurry! I think I feel another poem coming to the
    surface!

    Thanks,
    Dave Ocame
