Official Space Weather Advisory issued by NOAA Space Environment Center

SPACE WEATHER ADVISORY OUTLOOK #03- 40
    2003 October 07 at 12:02 p.m. MDT (2003 October 07 1802 UTC)

    **** SPACE WEATHER OUTLOOK ****

    Summary For September 29-October 5
Space weather during the past week reached minor levels. Two category
R1 (minor) radio blackouts were observed during the week, one at 10:51
P.M. MDT on September 30th (0451 on October 1st UTC) and the other at
9:47 A.M. on October 4th MDT (1547 UTC). These radio blackouts were
due to energetic solar flares on the sun. A brief Category G1 (minor)
geomagnetic storm occurred on October 3rd. For a list of adverse
system effects related to space weather storms, please refer to the
    NOAA Space Weather Scales.

    Outlook For October 8-14
Space weather for the next week may reach minor levels. Late in the
week a category G1 geomagnetic storm is expected as high speed solar
winds are expected from a large coronal hole. There is also a slight
chance of a category R1 radio blackout from a moderately sized active
    sunspot region on the sun.
