SPACE WEATHER ADVISORY OUTLOOK #03- 46
    2003 November 18 at 02:33 p.m. MST (2003 November 18 2133 UTC)

    **** SPACE WEATHER OUTLOOK ****

    Summary For November 10-16
Space weather during the past week reached moderate levels. A category
G1(minor) to G2(moderate) geomagnetic storm has been in progress during
the entire week. The storm started on November 9th when a large
coronal hole rotated in to position where its high speed solar wind
impacted Earth. The interaction between the high speed solar wind and
Earths magnetic field produced the category G1 to G2 storm. Category
R1 (minor) radio blackouts were observed on November 11th and 13th due
to energetic solar flares on the sun. At the time of this summary,
clouds of ionized particle known as a coronal mass ejection (CME), have
been observed and could produce geomagnetic storms. These CMEs appears
to be partially directed toward Earth. For a list of adverse system
effects related to space weather storms, please refer to the NOAA Space
    Weather Scales.

    Outlook For November 19-25
Space weather for the next week is expected to reach strong levels. The
category G1 - G2 geomagnetic storm is expected to end early in week. A
category G3 (strong) geomagnetic storm is possible on November 20th or
21st due to the CMEs of November 17th and 18th. The very large active
regions that produced much of the high level solar activity in late
October and early November are now rotating into view, and are expected
to increase solar activity levels for the next week. Category R1 to R3
    radio blackouts are likely.
