Send a Message to ET in Cosmic Call 2003
Team Encounter is excited to announce Cosmic Call 2003 - your chance to broadcast a message to other stars! Over the July 5 & 6, 2003 weekend a world-class radio astronomy dish in Ukraine will transmit text, audio, photo, and video messages of Team Encounter members to five stars chosen by our science team. The transmission will begin with a special video message by legendary television broadcaster Hugh Downs (pictured at left).
Mission Control will be located at the International UFO Museum and Research Center in Roswell, New Mexico. That's because earlier this year the New Mexico legislature designated the second Tuesday of each February as "Extraterrestrial Culture Day," and resolved that a copy of the legislature's proclamation, "be transmitted into space with the intent that it be received as a token of peace and friendship." Through Cosmic Call 2003, Team Encounter is turning this statewide cultural celebration into a real space mission.

Team Encounter announces new Teachers Guide
The Challenger Center for Space Science Education, a prestigious educational organization created to carry on the legacy of the Challenger astronauts, has created a new teachers guide for Team Encounter! The Teachers Guide meets national standards in math and science education for grades K- 12, and uses the exciting, real space missions of Team Encounter to motivate the leaders of tomorrow.
The Teachers Guide is part of the Team Encounter Classroom Kit, which has already been used successfully in hundreds of classrooms around the world.
