Subject: MyNewsFlash Special Notice: UZ Boo Outburst
AAVSO MyNewsFlash Special Notice (December 6, 2003)
UZ Boo appears to be in outburst according to these observations:
1439+22A UZ BOO (UGWZ):
NOV 27.2438 <13.6 MUY
DEC 04.545 <17.5 SPK CCDCR
DEC 05.4852 13.5 WJD CCDI Err: 0.03
DEC 06.0382 12.5 OAR CCDV Err: 0.05
DEC 06.4803 12.5 WJD CCDV Err: 0.02
MUY EDDY MUYLLAERT OOSTENDE, BELGIUM
SPK PATRICK SCHMEER SAARBRUECKEN, GERMANY
WJD DOUG WEST MULVANE, KANSAS
OAR ARTO OKSANEN MUURAME, FINLAND
The last outbursts of UZ Boo were in 1994 and 1978. In 1994 it peaked
around 11.5 before fading slowly over a few weeks according to AAVSO data.
There is very little data on this star. Early analysis by Arto of his time
series data does not reveal superhumps at this time.
Visual observers are asked to follow this star closely. CCD observers are
asked to get as much time series data as possible, preferably with a V
filter, followed by B. We need global coverage with as little gaps in the
observations as possible. Please try to get long observing runs.
We have an e-scale chart here:

Clear skies!
