Hi,
My name is Jason Burks and I am a graduate student in the journalism
department at Columbia University. I am proposing a master's project
on the SETI project. The focus of this project is on the average
SETI member and how he/she goes about searching radiowaves for signs
of extra-terrestrial life.
I am hoping to find a few amatuer SETI astronomers in the New
York/Northeast area who are very enthusiastic about thier role in
SETI. I'm also hoping, if possible, to find a SETI member who may
have had a close call -- perhaps a signal that revealed something
unusual. Do you know of anyone like this?
I have already contacted the SETI League office and exchanged
e-mails with Dr. Stuart Kingsley among others. Since you were
listed as the Northeast regional coordinator, I thought you would
be the ideal person to contact.
Thank you for your time,
Jason Burks
