Since at present we still have only one planet where
we can study life (unless you count the Mars microfossils,
but they're dead :^)), the May, 1999 issue of National
Geographic Magazine (NGM) has an article on the first
creatures who walked on Earth, except that they did it
in the water first before coming fully onto dry land.
There is also an article on the relation between the
