If I may intrude with a little off-topic rambling. In 1974 (or '75), I was
in an Astronomical Society in a small University in the UK. The Soc.
thought that a public showing of "2001" would be a good fundraiser. We
needed a 16mm print & called MGM to pitch the scheme. They told us that the
only 16mm print was in Stan Kubrick's private collection. The soc.
president wrote to Kubrick, who, to our surprise and gratitude, loaned us
the only existing 16mm print. The fact that he cared enough to do this
speaks volumes about the man.

Thanks to Mr. Kubrick, the fundraiser was a great success.

He was indeed a 'classy' individual and will be missed.
