My personal favourite is that when they see the movie "Alien" one creature
will say to another "So, they've come across that one as well!"

Even worse.
When you realize that ET would have no context in which to view our TV
signals they would have no way of telling the cartoon from the real. For
all they could tell we would be very colorful but very flat things that
could be blown up and then dragged through a keyhole.

Or they might conclude that the sentient beings that sent the messages had
round things, one on each corner, and could go very fast down a black strip
with others like us zooming all around.

The mind boggles.
