Hello Larry and gang,
There is nothing new in this design of an Interstellar ark. This
concept goes back to the early history of Astronautics and Cosmonautics with the
work of Konstantin Tsiolkovsky and Robert Goddard and on into the 1920s with the
work J.D Bernal (The World, the Flesh, and the Devil). In the 1960s and 1970s we
see the same concept with the work of Dandridge Cole & Donald Cox (Islands In
Space), and Gerard K. O'Neill (The High Frontier). But, thank you Larry again for
pointing out this article to us.There is a link to the full text of J.D.
