Dear Setizens,

Now that September is here and fall is on it's way, time is drawing near
for us to give thought to those in our community who have contributed to
the science and development of SETI Research. I think that all of us in
the SETI League qualify in that respect. And there are others, not in
the SETI League who are equally gifted and worthy of the great
acknowledgement that the Bruno Award represents.

There is still a lot of time before the deadline is here for nominations
for this award. But time has a way of creeping up on us. Especially when
Project Argus Stations in Northern latitudes are preparing for surviving
the upcoming winter.

Of course, we are all busy people, and have many matters to attend to.
This posting is a gentle reminder to all of us, that this, The Bruno
Award, is OUR award, and that great care should be given to the person
or persons to whom we deem have merited the honor of it.

I won't go into great detail at this time. But I do invite all of us to
review the qualifications for the award available on the SETI League
website. I will be following up here with additional postings in the
upcoming weeks and months. In the meantime, please feel free to e.mail
me with any suggestions or petitions for nominees you may have. Again,
any who wish to donate their valuable time in helping me with the
organization of the Awards Committee are welcome. All that is necessary
is that you be members in good standing with the SETI League, in order
to serve on the committee.

Thank you for your time in reading this. And please, carry on with the
really great work I have been witness to here. I AM,

Sincerely,

David M. Ocame
