My guess is it's something like a "Cepstrum" which is a
fourier transform of a fourier transform. ie you can see the
pattern of the spectrum. I looked at speach recognition about
~25 years ago and some people were using this technique.

I have done work in the late 1980's on speech recognition. I know what a
Cepstrum (outre 'spectrum') is and would have used the term if accurate. Your
guess is not correct.

However, with the lack of politeness from others, I hardly feel compelled to
explain further, especially since the information is available in the SETI
literature. Instead of asking: 'What's he talking about...technobabble"
someone could have asked me directly on the list. Pretending I'm not here is
in really bad taste.

I would say 'today's mystery' is 'everyday's ignorance'. I will not be baited.
