It's a direct-conversion SSB receiver designed by Dr. Rick Campbell, KK7B,
and described in QST a few years ago. The basic design works anywhere from
10 to 500 MHz, when supplied with an appropriate LO. I use a 2-meter one
as the back-end after the DEM downconverter. Rich Tyndall has experimented
with a 10.7 MHz one after the IF output of an ICOM, as a product detector.
