Seering as there are still no solid plans for a manned lunar or Mars
expedition or base for the forseeable future, expecting NASA or some
other space agency to start working on a starship is not realistic.

But this is not to say I don't agree with you and wish they would.
That's where you as a citizen can come in to make your desires
known to the government.

At least NASA is *thinking* about the concept, via their Warp Drive
