Al, you've just hit on one of my favorites. Those books also spoke of the
Arisians and the Boskonians, two warring, space-faring species. Isn't it
interesting that the two big annual New England science fiction conventions
are Arisia and Boskone? I'll be speaking at Arisia next month, but please
note the dates in the last issue of SearchLites are WRONG. The conference
is actually 8 - 10 January.

BTW, the New England Science Fiction Society presents an annual The Edward
E. Smith Memorial Award for Imaginative Fiction. The trophy,
appropriately, contains a large lens. Three years ago it went to SETI
League members Joe and Gaye Haldeman. See
