That's one of the areas our software committee is presently exploring. For
starters, there is a C FFT routine on the website, designed to run under
GNU. See <http://www.setileague.org/software/karnfft.htm>.

According to the theory of the all-sky survey, not really! See
<http://www.setileague.org/general/whatsurv.htm> for an explanation of the
strategy.

If you are a SETI League member, I invite you to explore these questions
further with your fellow members on the Argus technical email list (see
<http://www.setileague.org/admin/arguslst.htm>). If you are not yet a
member, I certainly hope you're planning to join us. You may pick up a
membership application off the website or, if you prefer, email your postal
address to <join@setileague.org> and a brochure will be mailed to you.

Thanks for your interest in SETI. We hope you'll be joining our Search.
