You may not be aware, Chip (not being a SETI League member or Project
Argus participant) that the SETI League maintains a *closed* email list for
signal verification. Only registered Project Argus participants have
(legal) access to this list. It was into this list that "anon" hacked his
way on Friday night, 23 October. It was over the closed "hits" list that
our participating stations (appropriately) diiscussed and analyzed the
claimed signal. By Saturday, 24 October the signal had been dubunked. We
made the decision *not* to go public, lest we legitimize anon's claims.
That's when *he* posted to the OPEN list, and you (and the whole rest of
the world) first became aware of the claimed ETI contact.
Your work on the public list to further refute "anon's" claims is
appreciated. As is the work of our Project Argus participants a few days
earlier. Our system seems to be working, and *all* are to be commended.
