    FOOD FOR THOUGHT
    -----------------------------------------------------------

"Each one of us has something to contribute. This really depends
on each one doing their own thinking, but not following any kind
of rule that I can give out, any command. We're all on the frontier,
we're all in a great mystery."

                   --R. Buckminster Fuller, Interview.

Researchers are goading tiny organisms like bacteria and
algae into producing fuels like hydrogen and methane. The
process is not useful yet, but the technology could be a
    solution to the energy problem.

    Nature's Operating Principles
    The True Biotechnologies

Edited by Kenny Ausubel with J.P. Harpignies

The "true biotechnologies," described in this second volume
in the Bioneers series, are working strategies grounded in
the innate complexity, relatedness, and sustainability of
    natural ecosystems.

Sector by sector-from energy and agriculture to transportation,
industrial production, and land management-the true
biotechnologies described here show how nature has already
orchestrated a symphony of intelligent design that we can
emulate and adapt, to the benefit of humanity and all life on Earth.
