SPACE WEATHER ADVISORY OUTLOOK #03- 5
    2003 February 04 at 12:55 p.m. MST (2003 February 04 1955 UTC)

    **** SPACE WEATHER OUTLOOK ****

    Summary For January 27-February 2
Space weather reached minor levels during the week. One category R1
(minor) radio blackout occurred on February 1st due to an energetic
solar flare on the sun. A geomagnetic storm reaching the G1 (minor)
level occurred on February 1st and 2nd. An isolated period of G2
(moderate) geomagnetic storming was observed on February 2nd. For a
list of adverse system effects related to space weather storms, please
refer to the NOAA Space Weather Scales.

    Outlook For February 5-11
Space weather may reach minor levels with R1 radio blackout conditions
possible. There is also a chance for a G1 geomagnetic storm on
February 5th and 6th due to a recurrent coronal hole, which produces
high-speed solar wind. Geomagnetic storming occurs when the high-speed
solar wind interacts with the Earths magnetic field.
