Kraft: You might say this president is overcome with the war on terrorism and the war in Iraq and he does not have time to think about space.
If he does not think about the future, then what the hell is he doing being President?
Mr. Kennedy had the missile gap, the Bay of Pigs and Khrushchev challenging him at every moment. He had people putting missiles in Cuba. He was faced with all kinds of problems, but he was either smart enough, or had vision enough, or was lucky enough to start the Apollo lunar program. And it was a Godsend in the 1960s.
