NASA LOOKS FOR MARS SAMPLE RETURN STRATEGIES
NASA has turned to four of the top aerospace firms to help come up
with viable strategies for picking up rocks from Mars and returning
them to Earth. Ball Aerospace, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and TRW have
all been paid $1 million to develop broad proposals on a strategy
for a sample return mission - a mission which might launch as early
as 2011. The firms have until October to present their strategies.
